{ Typography Tips for Non Designers }

For many non designers it can be hard to know what is right and what is wrong to do when designing with type. Here are some helpful tips on how to use type correctly


  • Using a serif font? Combine the serif with a san serif font to create a well designed layout
  • Using a sans serif font ? Combine it with a serif font
  • Combing similar fonts is never a good ideas, every 
  • Stick to two fonts or three if you must but use it sparingly. The more fonts you use the hard it become to read and focus on the design layout
  • Contrast is essential to a perfect layout
  • Don't mix moods in a design
  • Combine fonts of complimentary moods
  • Keep things simple, use different weights of fonts in the same font family 
  • Combine fonts of similar time era
