{ Presentation Do's and Dont's }

When it comes to giving a presentation, people tend to get stressed out and get anxious. Since giving presentations are something that everyone most deal with I decided to post some helpful tips, about the Do's and Don'ts of giving a presentation

Do Learn Your Material- take the time to commit your material to your memory. An educated speaker is one worth paying attention to, and will keep the audience in engaged 

Don't Read From the Slides - nothing is more boring than a presenter using the slides as a script. Show them your shining personality, not your boring robot voice

Do Know the Machine- technical issues could derail your presentation. Spend time with your equipement you will be using to avoid embarrassing surprises on presentation day 

Don't Assume the Machine Will Work - being surprised by a last minute technology issue can be a potential disaster. Test the equipement so things go smoothly

Do Tell Them a Story - whether it's how to slay a dragon or an online sales report get your ideas across by telling a story. A clear beginning, middle, and end will help audiences easily follow your key points

Don't Get To Far Off Topic- make your content rel table, and be sure it's going to support your overall goals as a presenter. Try to keep things interesting without forcing it.

Do Keep it Simple- tasteful simplicity will always do the trick. One powerful line to text and some supporting elements many be all you need to express your message. 

Don't Overdo It - the point you are trying to make could easily get lost in a deluge of information overload. Focus on the key message you want to get across and save the details for Q&A

Do Use Visual Help - while it may have never been proven that the T-Rex played the drums, it is proven that visual facilitate rapid understating and enhance memory retention

Don't Get Too Wordy - having a superfluous amount of text on your slide can leave you sinking fast. Find a good balance between content, graphics and space.
